Recognising Dutch private business success
More than a decade ago Deloitte launched the Best Managed Companies (BMC) programme in The Netherlands. The global programme that celebrates business success of the privately held leading/impactful players by recognizing and elevating companies that operate at the highest levels of business performance. Through a rigorous and independent process, the management skills and practices of the participating companies are evaluated based on proven best practices. The focus is on four categories, namely: strategy, culture, financials and innovation. Are you a leading/impacful player? Do you have outstanding leadership, an innovative mindset, and adaptive power? And are you curious about which components really helped and which may have hampered more rapid development? Participating with Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies programme will supply the answers! In this brochure you can read the most important information regarding participation. We hope you’ll apply! Here's to your continued success. Coen & Alexander

Here’s how it works
The Best Managed Companies programme aims to find the best managed, privately owned companies in the Netherlands. The BMC programme evaluates your company’s management abilities and practices, recognising overall business performance and growth. To gain insight into your company, employees, management and, if applicable, the supervisory board are asked to complete questionnaires. Based on these results our experienced professionals evaluate your business in the areas of strategy, governance & financials, capabilities & innovation, and culture & commitment. Your performance is then compared to industry peers. During a deep dive session with your management, we’ll go through your results and together we look at and advise on tweaking the weak spots. Afterwards you will receive a report with the questionnaire input, the insights from the deep dive session and the personal feedback from your coach. The final report determines whether you will be a Best Managed Company.
In addition to gaining insights, you are encouraged to participate in national and international meetings on various current topics. You are also invited to our BMC gala, where the BMC Awards are presented and a jury of business leaders presents the Excellence Awards to BMCs that truly stand out in one of the four BMC pillars.
